Soul Connections

Bhavana Project prayer flags

Revisiting Cindie Wolf's prayer flag from 2007.  She had just adopted her two daughters, who you see below, at the time of making this flag.

A bit of history if you are just joining us.  This set of twelve prayer flags began in December 2006.  Each participant chose a personal theme for their flag.  It is the second set created for the Bhavana Project, which is an ongoing community art work intending to share wishes and aspirations with the wider world.  New participants are always welcome!

The Silence

bhavana project prayer flag

In gratitude for Bhavana Project participants, here is Elizabeth Dailey's prayer flag from August 2007.  She describes her inspiration:  "Reading The Man Who Walked Through Time by Colin Fletcher... the first man to walk the length of Grand Canyon Park back in the late 50's or early 60's. This book is a wonderful account of his experience. I'm sure you can imagine that it was a physically rigorous, intellectually challenging and spiritually enlightening experience to backpack through that spectacular country.  Early in the trek... he said, 'When I had finished my dinner, I lay still and listened to the silence.' This spoke to me - reminded me of those special, silent moments I've experienced on the trail, hiking and camping in Nova Scotia, Grand Canyon, the Sierra's."

Live Without Fear

Bhavana Project prayer flags

In gratitude to all who created prayer flags for this project, here is Liz Finnerty's contribution from October 2007.  The imagery was inspired by her trip to Tibet.

"Live Without Fear" words to keep in mind.

Unbind Love

Bhavana Project prayer flags

More prayer flags, this one created by Stacy Mora in December 2007.  Stacy is an artist living in Northern California.  The words written read: "unbind love, real love, just love, free love, love the unbearable, unconditional love, give love, spread love."
